Megan, Cameron and Samuel, homecoming!

I *think* it was 2006 that I documented Cameron and Megan's wedding. Now, just these few years later they have added to their family! I admit it was my sincere honor and privledge to document the arrival of their adopted son Samuel, from Ethiopia, into the waiting arms and warm faces of friends and family. My job-- documenting these moments of life, brings me such joy, makes my heart overflow with the human drama.

Congratulations to all!

Annemie's not-so-maternity Maternity session

Remember that friend from college that always had it all together? That is Annemie, as far as I could tell-- beautiful, smart, sophisticated, and due with her second baby any minute now.

I'm hoping she'll call as soon as the babe is born (and they don't know what gender..but there is talk of it being either male or female. haha, excuse me I am tired) so I can photograph it all wrinkly and cute and pink.. but that job may be taken as mom can wield a camera herself quite well.

The trick of this session was not really the rain though. Gear, shmear.. camera, well, who cares.. God made back up cameras so if this one falls apart in the rain, whatever, right?

The trick was doing a maternity turned family session showing the warmth they felt for Oliver, their incredibly handsome lil man..

and his eagerness at the soon-to-be sibling..

while poor Oliver battled the fact that I was intruding on his nap time!

I had to incorporate some nature.. the beauty and uniqueness that is the Fearrington Village

and convincing Annemie to do some photos by herself. Hers was a very un-self-focused maternity session.

Not to mention the connection between Mom and Dad... what keeps it all together.

The rest to come soon, Annemie! I applaud you your beautiful little family, and look forward to the arrival of your latest blessing.
